The Wayver Essential Crew Tee is our take on the everyday men’s T-shirt: clean, comfortable, well made and designed to fit properly. It has been refined over years of customer feedback to create a versatile crew neck tee that works equally well worn on its own or layered under a shirt, overshirt, knit or jacket.

Made from premium combed long-staple cotton, the Essential Crew Tee has a smooth, soft hand feel while maintaining enough structure to hold its shape. The fabric is breathable, comfortable against the skin and substantial enough to wear throughout the year.

A Modern, Slightly Slim Fit

The Essential Crew Tee is designed with a slightly slim silhouette rather than an oversized or boxy fit. The body sits close without feeling restrictive, while the sleeves are shaped to provide a cleaner fit through the arms.

We grade our T-shirts in smaller increments than many menswear brands, helping create a more consistent progression between sizes. This makes it easier to find a fit that feels considered rather than jumping dramatically from one size to the next.

If you are between sizes, we generally recommend sizing up.

Our tees are pre-shrunk, although—as with all natural cotton garments—a small amount of shrinkage can still occur after washing.

Premium Cotton Made for Everyday Wear

The fabric is an important part of what makes the Essential Crew Tee different.

We use combed long-staple cotton, selected for its softer fibres, smoother surface and durability. The cotton is spun into a high-quality jersey that feels comfortable from the first wear while being designed to stand up to regular washing and everyday use.

At approximately 170gsm, the fabric sits in the sweet spot between a lightweight undershirt and a heavy, rigid T-shirt. The result is a versatile men's cotton tee that feels substantial without becoming overly thick or hot.

Lighter colours such as White and Off White are developed with particular attention to fabric coverage and opacity.

Designed to Hold Its Shape

Fit is only useful if it lasts.

The Essential Crew Tee is constructed to minimise twisting and spiralling through the body, with careful attention paid to fabric preparation, stitching and neck construction. Shoulder seams are reinforced to help maintain shape, while the crew neckline is designed to sit neatly without feeling tight.

The fabric is pre-shrunk to reduce dimensional change after washing. Some natural movement in cotton is unavoidable, but under normal washing conditions shrinkage should remain minimal.

For best results, wash your Wayver T-shirts in cold water and allow them to air dry. Tumble drying is not recommended, as higher temperatures can increase shrinkage and place unnecessary stress on the fabric and neckline.

The Everyday Men’s T-Shirt

We designed the Essential Crew Tee to be the sort of T-shirt you can wear repeatedly without having to think about it.

Wear it with chinos and clean sneakers for an easy smart-casual look. Pair it with linen shorts through summer. Layer it underneath a merino knit or jacket when the temperature drops. The clean crew neck and understated shape make it an easy foundation for almost any casual wardrobe.

It is intentionally free from large graphics and unnecessary detailing. The focus is on fabric, fit, colour and construction.

Because the fit remains consistent across the range, once you find your preferred size you can build a rotation of colours without having to start again each time.

Finding the Right T-Shirt Size

Choosing the right T-shirt size comes down to both your measurements and how you prefer your clothes to fit.

Our Essential Crew Tee Size Guide includes garment measurements for chest, body length and other key dimensions so you can compare them with a T-shirt you already own.

For the most accurate comparison, lay one of your best-fitting T-shirts flat and measure it from seam to seam.

If your measurements sit between two Wayver sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size.

How Should a Men’s T-Shirt Fit?

There is no single correct T-shirt fit, but for a clean everyday look we prefer a shape that follows the body without clinging to it.

The shoulder seam should sit close to the edge of your shoulder. The chest should have enough room to move comfortably without excess fabric hanging through the body. Sleeves should sit neatly around the upper arm, and the body length should provide enough coverage without making the T-shirt look excessively long.
